O Ring Binder Overview
The Akiles WireMac-Duo Combo Wire Binding Machine has both 3:1 and 2:1 options. This ensures a range of thicknesses up to 1 1/4 inches and up to 14" in length. Punching capacity is limited to a maximum of 20 sheets of 20lb paper. Please note you must punch less sheets at one time if heavier paper. All dies can be independently disengaged, to allow the punching of any size document while preventing partial side-end perforation.
Wire Size Selection
3:1 ratio of holes, which is three holes per inch can be used for book thicknesses between 3/16" - 9/16" where as thicker books between 5/8" - 1-1/4" must use the 2:1 ratio. A range of sizes and colors are available for purchase from the front desk. Please ask the lab monitors to purchase.
